  • Matt Dixon | The Flint Journal..Ken Makuch, owner and cook at Makuch's Red Rooster in Flint poses for a portrait. Behind him are two original paintings done by a past employee. Several barns were knocked down to create the building and to avoid confusion with another local restaurant, the name Red Rooster was chosen. Makuch has had a part in the restaurant since it was created in 1954.

  • Matt Dixon | The Flint Journal..Sophomore Brandon Gonzalez mans his route 66 gas station at the 5th annual living museum exhibition at Davison High School, Thursday, Feb. 24. Brandon's grandfather contributed the gas pump and other collectables for the exhibit which Brandon and his partner Tanner Dingman built and painted. The projects were a part of an AP U.S. history class, "American Innovation and Technology."
