  • The extremely large trunk of a fallen maple tree is sawed in two, the top half being pulled out of the way so the bottom half can be rolled to a portable saw mill where the log will be cut for its lumber Saturday, May 1, 2010. The entire trunk is estimated to weight over four tons. The bottom of the log was sealed after being cut down to prevent moisture from leaving the tree too quickly causing checking or splitting of the wood.
