Cody Svatos, of the Lynch Volunteer Fire Department uses a thermal imaging camera while navigating his way through a room filled with fog along with Tim Peterson of the Alliance Fire Department during the large area search part of Advanced SCBA (self contained breathing apparatus) during Nebraska State Fire School Saturday at Fonner Park in Grand Island. Participants had to quickly and effectively navigate the room with the aid of the thermal camera and locate and rescue a victim. (Independent/Matt Dixon)
