Genetically pure Bison are released Saturday evening into pens on land owned by the Crane Trust Nature and Visitor Center. The 39 genetically pure bison came from the RimRock Ranch near Crawford, Neb., and will live on Shoemaker Island. (Independent/Matt Dixon)
