Matt Dixon | The Flint Journal..A 1953 General Motors Futurliner is on display during the 39th Sloan Museum Auto Fair in Flint Saturday morning. One of twelve originals, the vehicle was developed to display the modern marvels of the time such as microwave ovens, jet engines, stereophonic sound and television. This vehicle and a group of nearly 50 other vehicles toured the country in the 1940s and '50s. The vehicle, built in 1939, is 33 ft. long, 8ft wide, 11ft 7 in tall and weighs about 30,000 lbs.
