Matt Dixon | The Flint Journal..Siple Elementary second grader Serenity Ferrel couldn't resist putting her nose on a dot of chalk while visiting the Kitchen School in Davison Wednesday afternoon. What was once a form of punishment for talking in class, quickly became a hilarious source of entertainment for the children. Named after Silas Kitchen, an early homesteader of Davison, The Kitchen School is hosting a program for Davison elementary school students, providing a one-room school-house learning experience. The school was founded in 1847 and moved to this building, which has been restored to a 1940s state, sometime between 1867 and 1870.
